Position: Private Duty Nursing Supervisor


Specialty: Pediatric Home Health, Pediatric Complex Care


Shifts: This is a full time, office-based supervisor position. Hours required are Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm, occasional Saturday mornings may be infrequently required 



  • Current RN license

  • Driver’s License

  • CPR certification

  • One-year clinical experience

  • Pediatric experience (preferred)

  • Critical care experience (preferred)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Home health experience (preferred), but willing to train qualified applicants

            Comprehensive Nursing Services, Inc. (CNS) has been providing private duty home care nursing services to children of medical complexity in the Baltimore area and on the Eastern Shore for over thirty-five years.             Nursing Supervisor's at Comprehensive Nursing Services oversee an assigned patient caseload, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accrediting body regulations. Nursing Supervisors provide direct oversight to field staff nurses, providing guidance, feedback, and training as required. This position requires frequent communication with the patient and the patients’ families. This position also requires frequent collaboration with involved specialty care providers such as physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, etc. Nursing Supervisors are responsible for maintaining the patient’s home care nursing orders, obtaining new orders, and acknowledging received orders in a timely manner. 


            Nursing Supervisors visit patients on their assigned caseload at least monthly in their homes, with more visits as required to meet the needs of the patient. Nursing Supervisors for Comprehensive Nursing Services, Inc. are also responsible for conducting interviews for nursing applicants, providing field staff counseling as needed, and conducting field staff skills validations as appropriate. Participation in team conferences and committee meetings is also required. Nursing Supervisors at CNS perform other duties as assigned.
